We often think of small talk as something to get through. The quick hello, the chat in the queue, the conversation you didn’t plan to have. But what if those small, everyday interactions were doing more than we realise in shaping how we build relationships with clients, connect with others and show up at work?
Built around her new book Once Upon a Stranger: The Science of How ‘Small’ Talk Can Add Up to a Big Life, Dr Gillian Sandstrom joins us for an evening in conversation with Sarah Wilcox from Fairisle, at the Theatre Royal Brighton bar.
If you’re a founder, leading a team or working closely with clients as your business scales, come along to discover how even the smallest of interactions can shape customer and client relationships, have more meaningful conversations, build your confidence and contribute to a stronger sense of belonging within your team at work.
Gillian will bring research, stories and real-world examples from her book through a practical business lens. You’ll come away with a fresh take on how talking to a wider range of people can spark new ideas and fresh thinking – helping your team to build better client relationships, be more creative, contribute more openly at work and network more effectively to support business growth.
Join us for a thoughtful evening of conversation on how sweating the small stuff (or small talk!) can make a real difference to your work, your team and your business.
