Meet Gayle Jones from Tide & Bloom

Say hello to Gayle, founder of Tide & Bloom - a Sussex-based brand and marketing consultancy helping local businesses bloom with confidence.

By Hannah Withey of Brighton Chamber

Hi Gayle! Can you tell us a bit about who you are and what you do?

After nearly 30 years shaping iconic brands in entertainment, food, luxury drinks, tech, and financial services, I launched Tide & Bloom to bring that big-brand expertise and simplified marketing to ambitious Sussex businesses, ready for their next season of growth. We focus on strengthening brand positioning, building seasonal marketing strategies, and delivering results that matter.

Tide & Bloom is also a platform to champion our local Sussex creative community, through collaborations and our monthly Social Network Tuesday network events. Connecting creatives and change-makers to inspire new opportunities for Sussex businesses.

What inspired you to set up Tide & Bloom?

My career has taken me from London to Sydney and Cardiff, delivering impactful brand and marketing for many iconic household name brands, working for leading creative agencies, in-house across D2C and B2B.

Yet Sussex has always been home, and I wanted to feel more connected to our local entrepreneurial businesses and incredible creativity community, helping to strengthen the local economy and see more Sussex businesses bloom - season after season.

Inspired by many coastal walks and South Downs adventures with Tilly, my spaniel, I believe that marketing should evolve and move forward with your business, just like the seasons.

Tide represents momentum and seasonal change

Bloom reflects creative growth and impact

Together, Tide & Bloom provides the strategic foundations ambitious businesses need to reset, refocus, and grow with purpose.

You’ve worked with some big name brands all across the world – what was one of your favourite projects to work on?

There have been many career highlights, but I have very fond memories of my time at The O2. I was part of an incredible team transforming the brand from an artist-led music venue into a world-renowned live entertainment and retail destination.

From brand and digital activations to launching new attractions, sell-out exhibitions, and immersive fan and visitor experiences. We drove an impressive event calendar with the biggest names in music, sport and comedy, attracting over 9.5 million visitors each year.

What’s next for Tide & Bloom?

Since launching Tide & Bloom in May, we’ve partnered with inspiring Sussex businesses in health, wellness, and the not-for-profit sector, delivering an uplift in results and receiving glowing reviews.

As we head into a new season, I’m excited to welcome fantastic new clients on board. I’d love to also bring my breadth of experience to Sussex’s vibrant hospitality and tourism sector, helping more businesses attract more of their ideal customers and bloom.

At the same time, I’ll continue to champion our incredible Sussex creative community, creating new opportunities and connections with local businesses.

And because we like to get to know the people behind the business, can you tell us about some of your favourite Sussex spots?

We’re truly spoilt here in Sussex. Tilly, my spaniel, would say nothing beats walks across the Downs; from Ditchling Beacon to Henfield or a run along Ferring Beach. I love swimming at Saltdean Lido or Sea Lanes, and sampling the incredible restaurants and cafés in town. Sussex is also home to some of the UK’s best vineyards, and I’m always happy to “research” a new one for future recommendations!
