Martin Searle Solicitors are organising their ‘Dawn of Hope’ walk in aid of Grassroots Suicide Prevention on 11 September 2026

Dawn of Hope

On 11 September, Martin Searle Solicitors are holding their third annual sponsored walk to raise funds and awareness for Grassroots Suicide Prevention.

Dawn of Hope’ walk is inspired by Office Manager Amy O’Shea, who initiated this event in 2024 because of her own personal experience of suicide. This has now become an annual fund raiser for Grassroots Suicide Prevention and Martin Searle Solicitors would like to invite members of the business community to help raise funds and awareness for the important work Grassroots carry out to prevent suicide in our community.

‘Dawn of Hope’ is in memory of all those who have been lost to suicide and to support those battling with their mental health.

Starting at the Peace Statue on Brighton Seafront at 6am, their sponsored walk will proceed along the beach towards Brighton Marina.

For those who wish to join the walk at the Palace Pier, please be there to meet us just before 6.15am.

When we complete our walk at 7am there will be complementary hot drinks and pastries provided by Martin Searle Solicitors at Malmaison at the Marina. If you would like to attend please book using the links below.

A representative from Grassroots Suicide Prevention will outline the importance of their work and how your donations help them provide valuable education and support in our community.

Local businesses and individuals can also donate to martin searle solicitors’ JustGiving page to raise funds for Grassroots Suicide Prevention.

For more details about the work Grassroots Suicide Prevention carry out please see their website here.

Fiona Martin, Director and Head of Employment Law, says “We will continue supporting the vital work that Grassroots Suicide Prevention carry out. Sadly, suicide rates are increasing and yet it is still difficult to speak about this openly.

We are known for being a campaigning law firm that makes a difference in our community. We therefore believe actions speak louder than words. We believe it is important to support causes that are important to our staff, clients and community. For this reason, we decided that Grassroots Suicide Prevention is the charity that our clients can choose to donate their client account balances to at the end of their case”.

Ben Baxter, Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager from Grassroots Suicide Prevention, says “Suicide is not inevitable and, in most cases, preventable. With the amazing support from Martin Searle Solicitors, the Dawn of Hope walk will raise awareness and break down the stigma of suicide. Whilst remembering loved ones lost and supporting those struggling, we can show there is hope and that recovery is possible”.

If you would like to join their Dawn of Hope walk on Friday 11 September, sign up here.
