Work in theatre
Work In theatre is an opportunity to explore, hear more about and experience the many non-performance roles in theatre.
This is a hands-on work experience course for young people aged 14 – 17yrs; find out about the wide range of careers within the theatre industry including Marketing and Communications; Box Office; Front of House and Customer Service; Stage and Technical including lighting, sound, wardrobe and stage management; Management and administration; and creative learning.

There are a limited number of subsidised places to improve equal access to the industry for those who are disadvantaged by their socio-economic background, additional needs, Black, Asian & ethnic backgrounds and those in care or previously in care. On stage summer school
Step into the spotlight this Summer with two joyful, creative summer schools on stage. Led by an experienced teacher and theatre maker, children 6 – 15 yrs will create their own performance piece, including set, props, costumes, dance routines, songs, text – in fact whatever their interest and whatever they want to include - all while building confidence, making friends and discovering the excitement of being part of something special! This welcoming, inclusive and inspiring experience is open to all abilities and backgrounds, and family and friends are invited to see their creation on the last day.

Theatre Royal Brighton uncovered!
Step through the Stage Door and onto the famous Theatre Royal Brighton stage for a free Open Morning.
Explore backstage including dress up for a photo opp in the Star Dressing Room; meet the team and discover what’s in store in our new season on stage and around the building; experience creative learning and craft a puppet to take home; and browse our Merch Stall for posters, programmes, show merch, and a chance to bid for money can’t buy items and experiences in our silent auction!
A fun event for all the family, with all money raised going to our partner charity, LEAF (Live Education and Arts Foundation), supporting children and young people to experience live performance.

The secret life of fairies
Not all fairies live in the woods, some have other ideas!
The sun is shining, the stage is empty, and the theatre fairies are making the most of the peace and quiet and enjoying their Summer staycation!
The Fairy Preservation Society are back with new enchanting things to see and do around Theatre Royal Brighton in this magical summer fairy trail for 4 – 8 year olds and their grownups.

Backstage world family workshop
Ever wondered what happens beyond the curtain? Step into the fascinating world behind the scenes and discover the magic that brings theatre to life.
Join our expert technical team for a hands-on family workshop where you'll explore the secrets of theatre lighting and sound, uncover what happens backstage before and during a performance, and get up close to our extraordinary flying system.
Whether you're a budding theatre-maker or simply curious about how shows are created, this interactive experience offers a rare chance to see the theatre from a whole new perspective. For ages 8–14 and their accompanying adults.

Glorious Ghibli family workshop
Step into a world of wonder inspired by the beautiful films of Studio Ghibli.
This magical family workshop invites children aged 6–11 and their grown-ups to explore hidden spaces around the theatre, discover playful Ghibli-themed activities, and enjoy creative time together.
Led by artist Abigail Horn, you’ll make your own Ghibli-inspired objects and characters using air-drying clay, cardboard, recycled materials, fabric, paint and decorations. Drinks and snacks are provided, so bring your imagination and settle in for a shared creative adventure.
