Trustee Vacancy (Finance) for Impact Initiatives
Could you use your accounting skills to help guide a local charity
Impact Initiatives is a well-established, innovative charity supporting over 10,000 people each year across Sussex. In Brighton and Hove our work spans supported housing for vulnerable young women, mental health support for children and young people through our Young People’s Centre, leadership of Brighton & Hove’s Ageing Well service, and self-advocacy support for autistic adults.
We are rooted in Sussex, ambitious for change, and known for working creatively and collaboratively to tackle complex social issues. We are currently finalising a new three-year strategy that sets out a clear, confident direction for the organisation and builds on our strong identity, values, and track record.
Our values shape how we work every day: we are inclusive and empowering, we work collaboratively and creatively, and we act with integrity in all that we do.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Sussex based Trustee with financial expertise to join our Board at an exciting time of growth and innovation. This is an opportunity to play a key governance role in a charity that is financially responsible, solution-focused, and willing to take measured, well-governed risks to increase impact.
As a Finance Trustee, you will:
- Contribute to long-term financial planning and organisational resilience
- Ask the right questions at the right time, helping the Board understand risk, explore options, and make informed decisions
- Support responsible innovation that aligns with Impact Initiatives’ values and risk appetite
- Being a trustee at Impact Initiatives offers the chance to:
- Support a cause that makes a real difference to people’s lives
- Use your financial skills for social impact
- Develop new skills and governance experience
- Work collaboratively with a committed, values-driven Board and leadership team
- Take on a rewarding new challenge outside your professional role
If you’re a financial professional who wants to use your expertise to support an ambitious, innovative charity, we’d love to hear from you.
