We are recruiting a Retail Assistant to ensure the efficient running of our vintage and second-hand clothing stores, Outfit at Emmaus. You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team who are passionate about what they do.

Salary: £10,155.60 per annum

Hours of work: 15.5 hours per week. Friday and Saturday 8:45-1700 (overtime available)

Location: Sussex Emmaus, Portslade and Brighton stores

Accountable to: Outfit Retail Manager

Contract: Permanent

Pension: An auto-enrolment pension arrangement is in place

Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Training and development: Individually tailored induction, training, and development

Employee Assistance: 24/7 employee assistance scheme is available

Probation: 6 months

The Retail Assistant will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, restocking, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance and organisation. They may also be responsible for tasks such as inventory management, sales promotions, and other administrative duties. This includes working with companions and volunteers, keeping the shop well stocked, and always maximising income. This is a hands-on role where your ability to lead by example will motivate our team of resident companions and volunteers to provide exemplary customer service and to generate a financial surplus to support the charity.
