May is Brighton at its most Brighton. The city is taken over by Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe – a month-long celebration of arts, culture, history, heritage and all the weird and wonderful things in between that make our city what it is.
Led by Mo Kanjilal, award-winning Founder & Director at Edge of Difference who works with leaders and teams to build cultures rooted in curiosity and inclusion, our May Netwalk dives into the city’s buzzing streets for a festival and heritage themed walk.
We’ll start on the Pavillion Terrace at Redroaster Brighton Dome for some pre-walk fuel before heading to the India Gate Entrance of the Royal Pavilion. Hear about our seaside town’s iconic pleasure palace built by George IV - inspired by his love of Asian art and design, that would later house wounded Indian Army soldiers.
From there, we’ll wind our way through the Pavilion Gardens, taking in the sights and sounds of Brighton to Ship Street’s blue plaque for world-renowned Bengali polymath, Rabindranath Tagore.
Netwalking is all about conversations that flow steadily as you walk side by side. You’ll not only discover some of the hidden histories and heritage of our city as we go – but also meet a group of around 30 like-minded business owners. Leave feeling refreshed, inspired and recharged from interesting conversations taken at a slower pace.
It’s more than just a walk – it's a chance to build connections, get inspired and explore different parts of our city together.
