This iconic Art Deco building has been lovingly restored to its former glory for the first time since the 1960s. It’s a building with an interesting history - born from a movement to make seaside architecture for the enjoyment of the masses in the 1920s, after years of neglect the Save the Saltdean Lido Campaign was set up by local residents when plans to demolish the pool and develop over 100 flats on the site were announced.

Fast forward to 2025, and it's set to reopen in full this summer. Their Chair, Derek Leaver, will take us for a dip into Saltdean Lido’s history and restoration, and how the community making waves behind this iconic building’s restoration was key to its salvation. We’ll get a tour of their spaces (including a pit stop at the cafe), see the unique crescent-shaped pool and have a nosey at some of the places you might not ordinarily get to see.

So, join us on 29 July as we go behind the scenes at a building that has community well and truly at its heart.

We won’t be taking a dip in the Lido as part of the tour (we know you were thinking about it!), but you can view availability for swimming here.
