Stars are born at the Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce AGM

Stars are born at the Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce AGM

On 20th April 2011 a brand new event in the Chamber’s busy calendar will be launched. The AGM will play host to the first ever Chamber Stars Awards ceremony which will recognise outstanding contributions made by members to the Chamber.

Among the galaxy of Brighton and Hove’s business talent, individual stars will be nominated by the members in six different categories, to honour the friendliest, the hardest-working, the most knowledgeable and, in short, the downright good eggs that our local business community couldn’t do without.

Julia Chanteray, President of the Chamber, says: "2010 saw a lot of activity in extending our membership and as a result we’ve attracted plenty of new members and held some groundbreaking events, many of which have sold out. So we thought it was time to honour some of the people who’ve helped make it happen. You don’t have to be an old-timer to be nominated; we have a special category for those who’ve recently joined but are already making a contribution."

Julia will be joined by a host of Brighton and Hove’s leading business lights to ensure the event follows the Chamber’s ethos; to be friendly, supportive and fun.

"We’re in the mood to celebrate,’" says Julia. "We’re delighted with the vast array of businesses that comprise our Chamber. It’s an energising and lively community and we want to reflect this in the AGM and awards ceremony."

The event will take place at the Lansdowne Place Hotel in Hove from 6pm until 10pm, where members and their guests will be wined, dined and regaled with some of the best entertainment this side of the Brighton Festival.
