May the 4th be with you

It’s a bad pun we know but this year, May 4th just happens to fall on a long weekend in the UK. As well as providing optimum viewing time for a Star Wars marathon, it’s also when many people browse and shop online so we thought we’d give you four survival tips for improving your digital marketing through the bank holiday.

1. Analyse your email marketing

Do you know what times but more importantly subject lines and content best engages your audience? Do more people open your emails when you ask a question or make a statement? If you work this out now you can maximise your email marketing visibility over the weekend.

2. Strengthen marketing campaigns with website data

Make friends with analytics. There are a few places on your website that capture consumer behaviour. Check our your internal search queries to predict popularity of certain items. If you have pages with a high bounce rate, try improving this page specifically or if you’re a retailer, eliminating more steps in the buying process.

3. Optimise for mobile

Making your site mobile-friendly is essential as more and more people check their emails, browse online and even make purchases on their mobile phones, especially over a long weekend.

4. Get Social Media savvy

Pinterest in particular is the perfect platform for the holidays. Along with recipes, there are DIY tips, tips for saving money, and mood boards galore! In short, it has something for everyone and there’s nothing like a long weekend to get the browsing going. Use this opportunity to engage and connect.
