Plastic Product Design and Manufacture

A three-day short course for those wishing to learn about plastic product design and manufacture which will give participants knowledge of the polymer factors which influence design, plastic shaping methods and polymer product design theory. The course will benefit both those new to the subject or those who wish to extend their existing knowledge of plastic product design, plastics materials, polymer processing or who are working in a polymer product design related area.
 
Renewable energy technologies for 6* sustainable homes

A one-day seminar to benefit and interest professionals from any built environment discipline and enable them to better understand what is required to reach a sustainability rating of six stars, within the energy criteria in the Code for Sustainable Homes. The seminar reviews the demands for energy in houses, identifies the requirements of the code and reviews the energy technologies appropriate for reducing the consumption of fossil fuels. There are limited free places available at these seminars for eligible companies.

The Internet Protocol Suite, commonly known as TCP/IP, forms the basis for the internet and the future generation of communication services (both internet and telecommunication services) and is at the core of all modern mobile phone networks, is used for the distribution of television services to the mobile and on the web, carries electronic mail and is at the heart of all computer and data networks. This practical, hands-on course will facilitate understanding of how the protocols function and interact with each other. It will benefit those interested in TCP/IP and networking and will enhance any business’s internal technical capability.
 
Ecological Field Skills

The Ecological Field Skills course is mainly field-based, giving practical experience of field techniques including wildlife surveying, monitoring and management, and training in data collection, analysis and presentation of field data. This course provides grounding in the fundamental practical skills associated with ecological field research for a range of UK organisms. The course runs for a total of two full weeks but, depending on training needs, you can enrol on individual one-, two-, five or ten-day elements.

AutoCAD is an industry standard package which is used widely throughout the country. Our AutoCAD course is intended for designers, draughtsmen, engineers (of all disciplines), architects and managers who wish to learn the skills of Computer-Aided Design. The course is suitable for anyone who requires an introduction to AutoCAD, and is familiar with a basic use of computers.
 
Design and development of engine cooling systems

Delegates will develop a thorough understanding of the design principals and component interactions of the sub-systems which make up vehicle engine cooling systems. The course offers masters level training, delivered by experts from academia and industry, over a four-day period. It is aimed at engineers who are involved in the automotive industry and would like to further improve their knowledge and at those who wish to gain experience and understanding of the concepts of vehicle cooling systems.

Environmental auditing

This five-day intensive, Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) accredited Foundation course in Environmental Auditing, provides the ideal opportunity to gain essential training in environmental auditing, with the emphasis on acquiring practical rather than purely theoretical skills. The week’s course includes a site visit to a local company where you will undertake an actual environmental audit, allowing you to apply and practise the skills and knowledge learnt on the course.
