AMA (Ask Me Anything) about innovation, startups and high growth

 

 

Mike Herd will do a 15 minute introduction on the topics of innovation, startups and high growth, followed with an open floor Q&A.

 

Mike is the Executive Director of the Sussex Innovation Centre and provides strategic insight and focus to our member’s ideas. He is an expert at thinking creatively about business models, being open minded and spotting opportunities to improve businesses concepts. 

 

Mike has worked closely with our members since the centre was formed in 1997, building relationships with local investors, academics, funding bodies and technical experts.

 

He won the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion, he has worked to develop over 300 businesses based at the centre and supported many hundreds more. In that time over 30 of the businesses raised investment of more than £1million, with many more achieving healthy exits through trade sales or floatation. Many members have graduated from the centre into larger premises in the area, employing a highly skilled workforce and enriching the local economy.
