The property and construction sector makes recommendations to boost development in Brighton & Hove

Brighton Chamber and its event partners have run the Construction Voice series of events for over seven years, bringing together professionals and companies in the property and construction sector from Brighton & Hove and the Greater Brighton City region to discuss and propose ideas and best practices that can aid the wider economy, through this important sector.
At the most recent event on 22 July 2021, we explored how the property sector can be a leading force for good in providing practical solutions to local government. Following the discussion, we put together an Open Letter addressed to the Brighton & Hove City Council’s Chief Executive. It includes a number of recommendations outlining how the property and construction sector can step up and help local government through an optimisation of public-private sector collaboration and productivity.
One of the event partners, Ed Allison-Wright commented:
“It’s too often the case that we are driven by the wrong perception of those working in the private and public sectors, to the extent that it becomes entrenched within our respective sector. Our events set out to broaden the understanding of our collective challenges and opportunities, so that we can identify, learn from, and optimise the ways in which we meet our city’s needs and thrive as a city region.”
