Enterprise Junction - New Patron Announcement
Enterprise Junction are delighted to welcome Dr Sophie Cook as our new Patron. She is a writer, speaker, broadcaster & photographer, LGBT & mental health campaigner, Hon Doctor of Letters, RAF veteran, self-harm and suicide survivor, 13th most influential figure in Brighton. In addition to the above, she also became the first transgender woman to work in football’s premier league as a club photographer for AFC Bournemouth following her transition from Steve to Sophie in the summer of 2015 “Dr Sophie Cook is such a wonderful addition to our charity.” Said Michelle Gibbins, Chairperson of Enterprise Junction. “Her values and ethos align with that of our own and I am really excited to work with her.” Sophie says “The work that Enterprise Junction do to empower people, many of whom may previously have been disadvantaged, to fulfil their entrepreneurial potential is vitally important. I’m so excited to be asked to be a Patron for Enterprise Junction it’s an honour and I look forward to working closely with them to nurture these future business leaders.” Enterprise Junction specialise in helping people with additional barriers become self-employed or start a business to transform their lives. We are also starting a new initiative where we empower under represented individuals to develop their self-esteem to equip them with the knowledge that ‘they are good enough’ and give them the platform to realise their aspirations.
